In Florida, our Greatest issue was the State's Practice of Removing Medically Fragile Kids from vulnerable Parents who also had a documented Disability... (((note. I am a diagnosed autistic, who is parenting a more affected daughter with autism, and other complex medical Issues< and yes, this DID affect us personally... In 2012, I was a recently divorced, newly single AUTISTIC mom, and with my refusal of any more childhood vaccines, due to a severe reaction suffered by the Dolphin as a toddler, and with the insistent recommendation of then case worker, that Institutionalization of Dolphin, was the most appropriate setting for her, due to her high level of Care Needs...
My efforts in joining the Fight for Inclusive Rights Of the Developmentally disabled, since that frightening threat to our own family unit, increased, as the priority for me. And on September 2014, we saw victory of our efforts make law, with the HCBS Waiver and ADA Changes.
the Fight isn't over yet. A Ten Year Law suit between The ADA Advocates, and The State of Florida, That started in 2012, as of 2022, is now headed to The Supreme Court,..
In Hawaii, it was the Lack of Resources Available on The Big Island and the prevalent bullying issue, that was clearly an acceptable practice, and very often ignored, and dismissed, did affect us directly, and to that of Home Care Workers, that I had imported in from the mainland,
It cast a dark shadow to our life here, as Full Life Home Care Hawaii, gave us our first educational Initiation, into just how things were done in Hawaii..
The rampant Human Trafficking Risks, was also clearly evident, And the Overall Corruptions, the Domestic Abuse, the Abuses against the Developmental Disabled, which made Homeschooling the only option for us. All these very serious Issues, that many others also faced, in Hawaii, only further Thrived under the Hawaiian practice, of keeping a Blind Eye of Denial, of The Injustices, that commonly took place in the Islands.
The Personal loss of Two Known advocates, that with their mysterious and sudden Deaths, have hit us hard, and left us bereft, and in shock, of Hawaii's widespread apathy, regarding the problems there...
